Extract the files from Samsung_MCCI_Driver.zip into a directory. Run SETUP.
When done, on the PDA do start->settings->system->USB->external data call.
dock the phone.
Wait for drivers to be installed.
Undock the phone.
pda start->settings->system->usb->Select Active Sync
First phase: Downloading image. YOU ALREADY HAVE THE IMAGE. Just check it. Otherwise you're just downloading what you already have... and this one takes a bit.
Second phase: Writing image: This one takes about 80% of the first one.
Third phase: IF IT FINDS THE PHONE drivers, it will go to phase 4. OTherwise, the "Found new hardware" thing will pop up. Let it do its thing. If you didn't do the USB->stuff above, the upgrade will say it failed. That's ok, reset your phone and redo it. You will need to re-align your screen / enter in time zone.
Fourth phase: (Only if failed above) Repeat upgrade tool, repeat phase 1, phase 2, And now it will download the Phone software and install it.
Fifth phase: reset. Realign . Enter in time zone. That's it.

The installation HANGS. At that point you need to remove from cradle. Turn off. Turn on.
Put in cradle. Resynch. Voila the installation starts.
